How to connect with Meta

Create a pixel ID

The Meta Pixel is a piece of code that's placed on your website to report conversions, build audiences and get insights about how people are using your product.


Before you begin

  • Make sure you have access to a Business Manager account or create one.
  • Check that you have full control of the Business Manager account you'd like to use.
  • Remember that you can’t delete a pixel or transfer it to another Business Manager account from the Business Manager account you created it in.

  1. Go to Business Settings in Business Manager.
  2. Select your business.
  3. Click Data Sources on the left-hand side menu.
  4. Select Datasets.
  5. Click Add by the search bar at the top of the page.
  6. Type in a name for your pixel.
  7. Optional: Enter your website URL.
  8. Click Create.

Connect to Authoritive Platform

  • Go to the Authoritive Platform and navigate to the specific program you wish to connect. 
  • Go to "Publish > Integrations" page. 
  • Paste the Pixel ID you copied from Meta into the corresponding field under the Analytics section.
  • Click "Save Changes" and wait a few minutes (~5 mins) for the changes to be applied.



Generate your Conversions API Access Token

To use the Conversions API, you need to generate an access token. Inside Events Manager, follow these steps:

Step 1: Open Events Manager

Open Events Manager and choose the data source you want to implement.

Step 2: Select the Settings Tab

Step 3: Generate your Access Token

Find the Conversions API section and click on the Generate access token link under Set up direct integration, and follow the instructions pop-up.

Note: The Generate access token link is only visible to users with developer privileges for the business. The link is hidden from other users.

Once you generate the Access Token copy it.

Step 4: Connect to Authoritive Platform

  • Go to the Authoritive Platform and navigate to the specific program you wish to connect. 
  • Go to "Publish > Integrations" page. 
  • Paste the Access Token you copied from Meta into the corresponding field under the Analytics section.
  • Click "Save Changes".



Verify your domain in Meta

Following the release of Apple's iOS 14, Facebook begun rolling out its new ad measurement protocols. One of the main actions required is to verify your domain in Facebook Business Manager.

Before you begin

  • You'll need to have a Business Account in Business Manager.
  • You'll need full control of the Business Account.

  1. Go to Domains in the "Brand safety" section of Business settings.

  1. Click "Add" and "Create a new domain" to add a new domain

  1. Enter in the market domain without any prefixes. For example, enter myproduct.market.authoritive.com, not www.myproduct.market.authoritive.com nor https://myproduct.market.authoritive.com

  1. Select "Add a meta-tag to your HTML source code" as a verification option.
  2. Copy the meta tag "content" value.

Connect to Authoritive Platform

  1. Go to the Authoritive Platform and navigate to the specific program you wish to connect. 
  2. Go to "Publish > Integrations" page. 
  3. Paste the Domain Confirmation code you copied from Meta into the corresponding field under the Analytics section.
  4. Click "Save Changes" and wait a few minutes (~5 mins) for the changes to be applied.

  1. Confirm if the meta tag has been added to your product's market page by right-clicking on the market page, select "Inspect" ( Mac: Cmd + Option + I, Win: Ctrl + Shift + I) and look for the meta tag in the "Elements" tab. It should contain the tag <meta name="facebook-domain-verification" content="xxxxx">, where xxxxx the verification code you added earlier.

  1. After confirming that the meta tag exists, go back to "Verify your domain" page and click "Verify domain" button for the process to complete. Once ready, you should a "Verified" text next to the domain.
