Add and Customize Topics

Topics make up the core building blocks of your SMS program. Think of your topics as boxes containing all the content you plan to send your audience during a set date and time. Each day's topic can include texts, audio messages, images, videos, and replies.

Once you create a program by completing the Program Settings page, you'll be given the opportunity to outline each of the topics that make up your program. The platform will auto-generate the correct number of topics based on the duration of your program. It will also automatically assign the right date and time for the topic to be sent to your audience based on the details of your program.

Each topic should feel like a self-contained, bite-sized piece of content that builds on the previous day's topic and sets up whatever the next day's topic will be. While outlining your program's topics, use short descriptions or title-like phrases to keep your content clear and organized. These are the stepping stones that lead your audience down the path of your program.

For example, let's say we're creating a 5-day program about how to write a song. Your topic outline may look something like this:

Monday Week 1 - Choose a genre of music

Tuesday Week 1 - Write your lyrics

Wednesday Week 1 - Choose a beat

Thursday Week 1 - Put a melody to your lyrics

Friday Week 1 - Share your song

Each topic in the short program above represents a specific skill or concept, and each builds on the previous one. Going through the process of outlining all of your topics will make creating the content of your program much easier.
